(from Autosprint 44/1984 pages 12)
Test at Estoril, from Monday to Saturday just after Portugal GP, the last in 1984 season. Brabham tested for the first time Pirelli tyres.
During Portugal GP (on prevuious day) pole position was scored by Piquet 1'21"703, fastest lap by Niki Lauda 1'22"996.
Ayrton Senna (Toleman Hart) 1'21"60 (new track record)
Nelson Piquet (Brabham BMW) 1'21"70
Teo Fabi (Brabham BMW) 1'24"10
Roberto Moreno (Toleman Hart) 1'24"10
Manfred Winkelhock (Toleman Hart) 1'24"12
Jonathan Palmer (Toleman Hart) 1'25"50
Jan Lammers (Toleman Hart) 1'26"20
Paolo Barilla (Brabham BMW) 1'28"20
Ivan Capelli (Toleman Hart) 1'30"40
Interesting to see Fabi back after his father death (he didn't race Portugal GP) and Winckelhock on Toleman, after having raced Portugal GP on Brabham (he replaced Fabi). Barilla had problems because cockpit was very narrow for him and Capelli made only 9 laps then engine broke.
