Kimi Räikkönen, Petter Solberg and Citroën in the Junior Team!Good news! Now it’s all a matter of Official re… Kimi and Peter together – would be something very great! Remembering that today’s anniversary of this amazing pilot: Petter Solberg – Happy Birthday!!!
WRC: Quesnel Räikkönen wants Petter Solberg and Citroen in the Junior Team in 2011Although none of the men signed for next year, but both would like to skip the chance to compete for a top manufacturer of WRC – if a business is found suitable for this.
Räikkönen has driven the Citroën team for the junior team this season with mixed results as well, but recently he said his desire is to continue next year. The team has an open seat in 2011, as Sébastien Ogier will strengthen the core team succeeding Dani Sordo who is leaving the Citroën, thus providing an opening to Petter Solberg. The Norwegian has been a star in its private team in the last two years, but recently he admitted he could not keep up with functions that would be two pilots.
“After what they did this year, for me, Petter and Kimi are the priority”, said Quesnel on the front line for next year. “Maybe we’ll have to change the name “Junior Team. We have Ogier in the first team now – so we’re not looking for young riders for the next two years.”
Quesnel war particularly interested in praising Petter Solberg and, despite admitting that secure your place in the team will not be easy, believing that an agreement can be made for the 2003 WRC champion – like the new car for the next WRC DS3 years.
“For Petter, this is not anything right you were so fast, so you can come.” It’s more complicated than that, but I’m sure in the end it will be ok,” Quesnel said, referring to Petter Solberg with lack of sponsorship.
“I have great respect for what he did this year. I know it’s tricky to find the budget and build the team, so he has to drive the car too.”
“Honestly, what he did is really complicated and I tip my hat to him.”
Petter Solberg has admitted himself that he must return to the manufacturer team, and said he is talking with unnamed teams over the next year.
“At the moment I have nothing”, said Solberg. “I have a sponsor who is going with me. I am tired of trying to do everything I’m sure that you can’t be WDC in a private team. We’re talking, so let’s see what happens.”
Petter Solberg took part this year with a WRC Citroën C4 WRC custom, scoring eight podium finishes and ending the season third in the Drivers World Championship.
